🦋 Personality

Option 1: Answer the following questions. Elaborate on the answer, especially your characters thoughts and feelings surrounding the answer. For Canon Characters, you can choose four questions. For Original Characters, you will need to choose six questions. Keep the word count to 150-400 per question.
  1. Has your character always believed in magic? Do they have something influencing their perspective on the supernatural/metaphysical/spiritual from their past? How do they feel about magic?

  2. Evan Buckley has always had an open mind toward magic and the supernatural. Evan is curious, so believing in something that can't be proved is right in his wheelhouse. He is an avid reader, not sticking to one topic but absorbing as much knowledge as possible. He is a walking, talking Wikipedia. He read many books on Myths and mythology. He believes in curses and fate, waiting for proof that something is not true before disbelieving it.

Evan was born to try and save his brother, Daniel. He likes to say that he was born for spare parts. His stem cells didn't take, and his brother died before he even knew about him. He wants to believe in the supernatural and has a vision of his life after he was struck by lightning. He has been on death's door too many times not to think there is something else out there. He hopes there is.

Emotionally, Evan may feel a mix of wonder and trepidation about magic. He could see it as something beautiful, mysterious, unpredictable, and potentially dangerous. Depending on how he interacts with magic in his present life, he might embrace it cautiously, diving in with curiosity but maintaining a sense of wariness. He won't shy away from magic unless magic hurts him first.

  3. What mythological creature would your character most like to be? Which do they identify with? Which would they dread being? Feel free to use our Bestiary for reference.

  4. If Buck were a Nagual, he would be one because:

    1. Natural Protector Instinct – Buck fiercely protects his loved ones like a Nagual would be for their tribe or chosen people. He’s always throwing himself into danger for others, almost like it’s his calling.

    2. Reckless but Guided by Instinct – Naguals are often depicted as having a wild, untamed side, balancing human and animalistic instincts. Buck’s impulsive nature and deep gut feelings about situations could signify that spiritual connection.

    3. Transformation & Growth – He’s undergone massive personal transformations from a reckless firefighter to a responsible team member. In many myths, Naguals undergo personal trials to reach their full potential.

    4. Ties to Death & Rebirth – Buck has had near-death experiences (like the tsunami, the ladder truck accident, and his pulmonary embolism). In many shamanic traditions, close brushes with death are signs of a spiritual awakening or supernatural connection.

    5. Connection to Fire – Firefighters harness fire, which could tie into an elemental connection. In some traditions, Naguals are linked to specific forces of nature—maybe Buck’s element is the fire itself.

  5. If your character could ask for one wish, and it's going to be magically granted without any consequence, what will it be and why?

  6. Buck is selfless to his core, so his wish would not be for himself but for someone he loved. Buck is starting to see his self-worth, but he's not there yet. He grew up with parents who considered him a failure and a sister who raised him with love until she left home. Buck should be angry and bitter about how he was raised, but he's not. Instead, he lives life to the fullest and pays it forward. He would love a family of his own, but if he's honest, he has built a family with the 118 and, more specifically, with Eddie and Christopher Diaz.

Buck would wish that Maddie never married Doug Kendall. Buck has always been highly protective of Maddie, and given that Doug was an abusive monster who hurt her for years, Buck would wish she had never been with him in the first place. Buck has always felt guilty for not being able to protect Maddie when she came to LA; he wishes that she wouldn't have had to kill him in self-defense.

  7. If there's one person your character would follow to another realm, who would it be and why? If there's no one, state that and explain why.

  8. Evan Buckley would follow Eddie Diaz to another realm without hesitation. Their bond runs incredibly deep—beyond just friendship or being work partners. Eddie is Buck’s anchor in many ways, and Buck has repeatedly demonstrated that he would put Eddie (and Christopher, Eddie’s son) above everything else.

Buck’s loyalty and need for belonging would make him willing to enter the unknown if Eddie were going, especially if Christopher was involved. He thrives on having a purpose, and Eddie and Christopher give him that.

If there were no one he’d follow, it would likely be because he’s finally found stability in his life and realized that his home, family, and sense of self are rooted where he is. But given how much he’s risked for Eddie before, I’d say he’s packing his bags for another realm in a heartbeat.

    🦋 Fae Court

List your top three choices for your characters adoptive court. The mods will choose the one out of those three options that seems the most fitting based on your app.
    • Summer

    • Winter

    • Spring 3

Ability: Do you want your character to gain the ability of their court? (Delete the other two options.)

    3) Yes, but they either have no ability of their own, or they refuse to trade theirs away; they will buy their court's ability on credit.
